AREAS OF EXPERIENCE

I have worked with a wide range of people from differing backgrounds, cultures, and ages.  Clients present their difficulties in many ways, and no two are ever the same.  The mental health profession has a system of categorizing peoples’ symptoms and it is often helpful for clients to view their symptoms through a similar lens.  I have experience of working with clients whose symptoms fall into the following categories;

  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Bipolar Disorder
  • Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
  • Personality Disorders
  • ADHD
  • Recipients of Abuse
  • Male and Female Sexual Dysfunction (both in individuals and within couples)

I also have extensive training as a Medical Family Therapist (MedFT), and practice of working with clients who experience chronic medical conditions.  Mental health symptoms often co-occur with chronic physical conditions, such as chronic pain, diabetes, cancer, and terminal illness.  It is important that the mental symptoms are treated alongside the physical symptoms to fully help clients and their families work through the pain and distress of the chronic illness experience.  You can read more about Medical Family Therapy through this link.
